Two major wins for Capicú: NVIDIA Inception + AWS Activate
We just unlocked two big milestones for Capicú: we’ve been accepted into NVIDIA Inception and the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Activate program.
For a startup building edge-first AI, this isn’t just a badge—it’s leverage. We now have the means for deeper technical enablement, stronger infrastructure options, and the support to scale responsibly as we bring “AI that fits anywhere” closer to real-world deployment.
We're building cloudless intelligence
Capicú is building cloudless edge intelligence—turning biomedical and industrial sensors into autonomous AI nodes that process data where it’s generated. In practical terms, we’re focused on making modern ML run under the hard constraints of edge devices: limited CPU/RAM, tight power budgets, and noisy real-world signals. That mission is core to our platform and why we’re obsessed with “making state-of-the-art models run where data is collected.”
Why NVIDIA Inception matters for edge-first AI
NVIDIA Inception is designed to guide AI startups from prototype to production. It’s a free program with benefits that help teams build faster and grow—without needing to already be “all-in” on NVIDIA to join. NVIDIA
What we’re most excited about:
- Training + technical guidance: access to technical courses, workshops, and support pathways that help us sharpen our accelerated computing and deployment playbooks.
- Developer tools + build acceleration: access to SDKs, model libraries, and developer platforms—plus partner offers that reduce friction as we iterate and deploy.
- Scaling leverage: Inception includes options like preferred pricing on select NVIDIA hardware/software and even cloud credits from NVIDIA and partners to support flexible development.
- Ecosystem + investor access: exposure to a broader network (including eligibility-based investor introductions via Capital Connect) and stronger visibility through NVIDIA’s startup ecosystem.
This aligns directly with what edge AI demands: serious profiling, performance engineering, and a pipeline that can take models from research to something that actually runs reliably on constrained hardware.
Why AWS Activate matters—even for “cloudless” systems
Even when your product is designed to function without the cloud in the loop, building and scaling the platform still benefits from cloud infrastructure: secure identity, device provisioning workflows, artifact storage, update distribution, logs/telemetry, and global reliability.
AWS Activate is built to help startups do exactly that. The program includes AWS credits (up to $100,000), support plan credits, and architecture guidance—so teams can build, test, and scale while managing cost and risk. Amazon Web Services, Inc.
A few Activate components we expect to put to work:
- Credits to build and scale: AWS credits apply to eligible services to offset infrastructure costs while we experiment and grow.
- Expert support: AWS Activate includes Developer Support credits and access to best-practice tooling like Trusted Advisor and Personal Health Dashboard via support tiers.
- Reference architectures/templates: “Build on AWS” templates and reference architectures designed to get startup systems running faster.
- Activate Console + enablement: a centralized console to track credits and access curated resources and offers.
In short: NVIDIA helps us go deeper on accelerated AI development and ecosystem access, while AWS helps us scale the secure, global “platform layer” that supports our edge fleet—without forcing inference to happen in the cloud.
The bigger idea: AI should fit anywhere
“Edge AI” is about moving intelligence to the boundary of the system—where data is created and where decisions often need to be immediate.
Edge ML is fundamentally about running models “as close as possible to the originating source of data,” so decisions can happen locally. That principle is the backbone of Capicú: compute that adapts to real-world constraints, keeps working offline, and gives you real-time responses when it matters most.
These two program acceptances don’t change the mission—but they accelerate it.
What’s next
With NVIDIA Inception and AWS Activate behind us, we’re accelerating toward:
- Faster iteration across edge model pipelines (profiling, compression, deployment)
- Stronger “cloud-optional” infrastructure for secure global scale
- Better tooling and guidance to turn prototypes into field-ready systems
If you’re building with sensors—biomedical or industrial—and you’re curious about cloudless edge intelligence, we’d love to connect.
